Brown & Co Properties Ltd is an independently owned estate agent in Whitburn, West Lothian. Our prominent high street location in the town provides an excellent base to market your property. Drawing on our previous experiences of the mortgage market, we feel we can offer a more all round picture when coming to residential property sales. Not many estate agents in West Lothian are also qualified Mortgage Advisors.  As a new business coming into this competitive sector, we believe our pricing structure and our friendly and honest approach to property sales sets us apart from West Lothian’s more established agents.

We deal with everything relating to your property sale in-house, liaising with the wide variety of professionals required to complete your sale. By acting as a single point of contact, we feel this provides you with the best possible experience.

Brown & Co Properties Ltd was formed at the start of 2011 by Chris Brown. Chris gained experience of the property market by completing the Certificate in Mortgage Advice in 2010 whilst working within the family run mortgage practice, JB Mortgage Solutions. The large office in Whitburn has provided the perfect base to run an estate agency. By being able to offer impartial mortgage advice to both buyers and sellers, clients are receiving a valuable service from the one office.

Prior to working in the financial services industry, Chris attended Stirling University, completing a BA degree in History in 2008. Very relevant to the industry he now works in!

Starting any new business is a challenging and exciting venture and comes with its costs. Through support and advice from the Business Gateway, Chris was pointed in the direction of PSYBT, a charity organisation that helps young people in Scotland start-up and develop a business idea. From creating a business plan, to pitching his idea to a panel of PSYBT members, Chris was given invaluable help every step of the way. Their aftercare service has helped Chris tread the necessary steps in business via advice and book-keeping workshops. Despite tough economic conditions, Chris is optimistic about the future of the property market. Property prices in Scotland have not suffered as much as they have down south and more lenders are returning to the market with competitive deals at 90%, aiding first time buyers to get a foot on the property ladder.
